Job Overview

As a Grab Driver based in Ireland, you will collaborate closely with local excavation and installation teams. Your primary responsibilities include operating a grab lorry for transporting materials to and from construction sites, ensuring delivery of materials and disposal of waste at authorized facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the grab lorry safely within urban and city settings, loading and unloading materials using the grab mechanism.
  • Comply with road rules, driving hours regulations, and the Working Time Directive to ensure legal operations.
  • Adhere to legislation governing the weight limits of transported materials.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues by following safety protocols and site risk assessments.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks, keep the vehicle clean and presentable, and promptly report any vehicle faults using a pre-use checklist.
  • Follow all Health and Safety laws and company policies, reporting hazards or issues to your immediate supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hold a valid C Licence and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Possess a current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Proficient knowledge of digital tachograph systems and compliance with driving and working time regulations.
  • Certified experience operating lorry-mounted cranes and grab arms.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills to interact with various levels of personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Manual Handling.
  • Safe Pass accreditation.
  • CE Licence holder.
  • Experience operating 360 Excavators.

Additional Information

This role involves traveling to multiple sites across Ireland with occasional overnight stays as required. You should be prepared to accommodate out-of-hours duties, including weekends and nights, when necessary.
