Job Overview
The position requires strong expertise in GIS and AIS switchgear with responsibilities encompassing engineering and commissioning (E&C) services and maintenance activities. These involve testing and commissioning various high-voltage switchgear types. The role demands the capability to manage GIS equipment effectively, compile technical reports and site documentation, and uphold stringent Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards as per company protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols at the site, including performing Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) operations following GE and customer safety guidelines.
- Implement continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity by enforcing GE Vernova's EHS regulations.
- Hands-on experience managing engineering and commissioning tasks at 230 kV and 380 kV substations.
- Possess sound knowledge of GIS and AIS switchgear, and electrical panels.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment in active substations.
- Execute both corrective repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose equipment-related issues.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance at substations.
- Maintain comprehensive back-office reporting, including test reports and customer documentation at the site.
- Coordinate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for unresolved repair issues and non-conformances.
- Provide technical support for installations or project preparatory work.
- Lead or collaborate within a team by assigning responsibilities to site staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field; or a diploma from an accredited institution in relevant disciplines.
- At least 4 years of experience working with high voltage switchgear.
- Proficiency in engineering and commissioning services for GIS substation sites, including maintenance operations.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Capability to work across multiple remote sites within Saudi Arabia.
- Ability to manage site operations and customer expectations effectively, even under pressure.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications and Project management tools.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, rapid learning capacity, and leadership skills.
- Exemplary communication skills and professional conduct.
- Arabic language skills are desirable but not required.
