Role Summary

The Global Facilities South Asia Project Controller position involves comprehensive oversight of project controls throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring adherence to Micron’s strict procedural, cost, schedule, risk, and quality standards. The role partners closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet defined quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to define scope and develop strategic work plans aligned with the master schedule.
  • Provide guidance and support on all aspects of project control, ensuring compliance with established control plans.
  • Serve as the liaison for site-based project control departments, coordinating efforts and communications.
  • Implement global business processes for cost management, scheduling, risk mitigation, and documentation control.
  • Facilitate lesson learned sessions with all project stakeholders to continuously improve processes.
  • Manage schedule control including consolidation of weekly and monthly reports, baseline approvals, and contractor schedule reviews using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Conduct weekly scheduling meetings with contractors to align on progress, resources, and efficiency.
  • Supervise contractor progress measurement techniques and verify field reports weekly.
  • Develop overall and field-specific progress charts ensuring alignment with company procedures.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, trends, and forecast potential risks or delays.
  • Support development and updating of project breakdown structures (WBS, CBS, OBS) in global platforms to ensure schedule standardization.
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies for project delivery improvement.
  • Manage cost control activities including weekly and monthly cost reporting, payment review meetings, change order coordination, and budget tracking.
  • Oversee risk control by identifying, managing, and reporting potential project risks to ensure contingencies are managed efficiently.
  • Ensure change management adherence including approval processes for scope changes, variations, and claims.
  • Oversee document management compliance, verifying report accuracy prior to submission and ensuring timely dissemination.
  • Maintain leadership in assigned modules of Micron Project Control System (MPCS), providing system validation, testing, user training, and benchmarking data maintenance.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools responsibly to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance in daily tasks, fostering continuous improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as prioritized by management to support project success.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in engineering, project management, or construction disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant project controls experience within semiconductor manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting, quantity surveying, and documentation management in engineering and construction contexts.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and project control software such as Primavera P6, ACC, BIM360, and Revit.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
  • Experienced in automation and dashboard tools including Business Intelligence (BI) and Power Automate.
