Job Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical drilling and soil sampling on land and marine sites.
• Perform comprehensive analyses of soil samples to evaluate site conditions accurately.
• Confirm and validate site soil conditions during active projects.
• Recommend and design ground improvement solutions for structural integrity.
• Assess and approve geotechnical designs submitted by external consultants.
• Plan and implement geotechnical site investigations efficiently.
• Interpret geotechnical data, carry out necessary calculations, and compile reports for management review.
• Prepare proposals, including cost estimation and scheduling for investigations.
• Lead and guide project teams during field inspections and testing phases.
• Engage with clients and collaborate with team members to deliver projects punctually.
• Oversee acquisition of geotechnical data during testing activities.
• Develop soil classification models and maintain GIS and FileMaker databases with soil and survey data.
• Generate specific GIS maps and use GIS technology for decision support and reporting progress.
• Monitor, log, and process all data required for GIS mapping and interpretation.
• Assist in preparing geotechnical interpretive reports and assess soil parameters affecting structural stability.
• Support supervision of site and ground investigations and soil improvement works.
• Review and verify third-party geotechnical designs.
• Coordinate soil investigations for projects and tenders, including testing acceptance criteria such as CPT and density tests.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance, health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures according to international standards.
• Promote safety and quality during geotechnical drilling and sampling operations, communicating issues effectively to senior staff.
• Provide leadership and training to field crews on technical standards, company procedures, and drilling techniques.
• Manage onsite assets, including drilling equipment, vehicles, tools, and parts.
• Document and investigate incidents or accidents on-site according to established protocols.
• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of all activities and chargeable items.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with dredging and civil marine projects is strongly advantageous.
