General Technician - Civil

About the Role

Hyatt Place Dubai/Wasl District is seeking a General Technician specializing in civil work. The key responsibility is to inspect, maintain, repair, and enhance all civil, structural, architectural, and finish elements across the hotel property. The goal is to provide a secure, operational, and visually appealing environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Holder of a Diploma, ITI, Trade Certification, or similar qualification in Civil Engineering, Building Maintenance, Masonry, Carpentry, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
• Possesses 2 to 5 years of experience in roles such as General Technician, Civil Technician, or Maintenance Technician.
• Experience in hospitality (hotels, resorts), commercial buildings, hospitals, or sizable facilities is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute planned preventive maintenance schedules consistently.
• React swiftly to maintenance requests as they arise.
• Repair and restore structural elements including walls, ceilings, floors, and architectural finishes.
• Carry out plastering, painting, tiling, waterproofing, and carpentry repair works.
• Perform routine inspections and promptly report any structural issues.
• Address urgent situations such as water ingress, flooding, or building defects efficiently.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, Fire, and Environmental protocols.
• Use personal protective equipment properly and report hazards without delay.

Guest Interaction

• Ensure courteous and professional communication with guests at all times.
• Minimize disturbances to guests while conducting maintenance activities.

General Duties

• Maintain high standards of personal grooming and punctuality.
• Assist with engineering projects and other tasks as assigned.
