Facility Background
The role is based at Larrakeyah Health Centre located within the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct, Darwin City, a tri-service defence base which directly supports Australian Defence Force operations and training. The precinct hosts approximately 1,100 personnel, increasing periodically for deployment medical checks. The health centre offers comprehensive services including primary medical care, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy, and pharmaceutical support. Operating hours are mainly Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional primary care services tailored to Defence personnel.
- Perform occupational medicine duties including fitness-for-duty assessments, pre- and post-deployment healthcare, injury management, chronic disease management, and preventive health interventions.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team prioritizing patient wellness.
Candidate Profile
- Holds unrestricted General Practitioner registration with AHPRA.
- Possesses FRACGP, FACRRM, or equivalent vocational registration.
- At least two years of GP experience within the last five years in a primary care environment.
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) is mandatory.
- Australian citizenship is compulsory to meet Baseline Security Clearance requirements.
- Demonstrates dedication to continuous professional development and ethical, patient-centred healthcare delivery.
