General Merchandise Associate

Position Overview

As a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Canada, you will gain valuable experience in retail by delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining merchandise zones, and supporting sales efforts. This role requires commitment to Walmart's core values while helping customers with product inquiries and ensuring the salesfloor is well-stocked and orderly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Offer friendly and polite customer service by greeting shoppers, assisting them in finding products, promoting services, and resolving issues or redirecting concerns as necessary.
• Manage and maintain assigned salesfloor areas, including zoning and organizing merchandise displays.
• Relocate feature merchandise to designated modular areas and recover merchandise from customer service and other store locations.
• Support cashier and front-end operations as needed to maintain coverage.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuous floor coverage.
• Promote a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company safety policies, completing safety logs, and securing displays and fixtures.
• Stock merchandise, perform downstock tasks when required, apply product protection, and set modular shelves including flex modulars and shelf caps.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.65.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
