General Manager

About the Role

This position is with an independently operated McDonald’s franchise in Henrico, VA. The franchisee manages all employment matters, separate from McDonald's USA, which only licenses the brand and products. The General Manager provides leadership and direction in daily restaurant operations, aiming to maximize sales and profitability while maintaining McDonald's standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all restaurant operations including food production, customer service, crew coordination, and manager supervision.
• Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment for all restaurant employees reporting to the General Manager.
• Partner with the Area Supervisor to set and review performance objectives and conduct timely performance evaluations.
• Participate actively in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new staff members.
• Ensure compliance with McDonald's Food Safety, Quality, Service, and Cleanliness standards to protect the brand image.
• Provide exceptional customer service by monitoring operations, managing shifts, addressing issues promptly, and recognizing team achievements.
• Manage all personnel processes including staffing, training, coaching, and motivating employees.
• Make critical business decisions regarding inventory, budgeting, and food cost management.
• Implement and uphold strict food safety standards consistently.
• Maintain high standards for both guest and employee safety and oversee facility maintenance to exceed operational excellence.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certification from Hamburger University is a plus.
• At least one year experience in leading, motivating or developing teams, or equivalent US military service.
• Dedication to workplace safety and exceptional customer focus.
• Ability to make prompt decisions and provide solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range from $50,000 to $62,000 annually based on experience.
