General Manager

Overview

This position is with a restaurant independently owned and operated by a franchisee licensed to use McDonald's branding and products. Employment matters such as hiring, firing, scheduling, and supervision are handled exclusively by the franchisee and not McDonald's USA, which has no authority over employment decisions or access to application information.

About the Role

The General Manager is accountable for running a profitable restaurant while ensuring adherence to McDonald's standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness—standards that are notably high. Together with leadership, the manager will establish restaurant goals and devise plans to meet them.

Leadership involves managing a team of Department Managers who have specialized responsibilities. Responsibilities include assisting these managers in goal-setting, monitoring their progress, and coaching to improve department performance, which contributes to the overall success of the restaurant.

The General Manager may also hire and develop both Department and Shift Managers to build a capable leadership team for future operations.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants possess prior General Manager experience at high-volume locations, preferably within quick service restaurants. Experience in hospitality or retail is also relevant. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to qualify for management roles in corporate McDonald's restaurants.
