Role Overview

An international agricultural trading firm is seeking a hands-on General Manager with robust experience to lead and ensure the successful, reliable, and profitable operation of their facility in Senegal.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the operation, including business functions, strategic planning, and full accountability for profit and loss.
• Guarantee efficient and timely execution from production through delivery, upholding strict standards for manufacturing, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Focus closely on procurement, logistics, and compliance principles to maintain operational integrity.
• Maintain transparent communication with the wider group and foster the implementation of the group’s values on social responsibility and continuous improvement among staff.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Africa.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership experience with full P&L ownership in an industrial setting.
• Strong background in industrial or operational environments, preferably in manufacturing or milling sectors, specifically with grains.
• Proven capacity to guide teams effectively through complex challenges including geopolitical and regulatory issues inherent to emerging and frontier markets.
• Successful history in team building, process enhancement, commercial delivery, and excellent clear communication skills in both written and spoken French and English.
• Position is based in Dakar, requiring frequent travel to operational sites.
