Job Overview
This position is with a European international energy products trading firm based in Hamburg, seeking a seasoned and commercially focused Demurrage and Claims Analyst to enhance their team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform thorough analysis of all pertinent documents to produce precise laytime calculations and demurrage claims.
- Coordinate and organize all accompanying documentation and justifications required to pursue claims, escalating issues when necessary.
- Approach claim management with a commercial perspective to maximize financial outcomes related to demurrage.
- Identify and report any repeated inconsistencies to improve operational efficiency and contribute to contract language enhancements.
- Report directly to the Head of Operations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maritime transportation and logistics.
- Proven expertise in laytime and demurrage analysis and handling claims.
- Excellent negotiation abilities with a strong skill set to construct and present clear arguments.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and thoroughness under demanding and high-pressure conditions.
- Position requires working onsite in Hamburg, Germany.
