Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially savvy General Manager for an expat assignment in Ghana. This role involves providing strategic, operational, and commercial leadership for significant civil engineering projects and business units within Ghana. The successful candidate will take full accountability for successfully executing major infrastructure programs, from business development and tendering through to project delivery and financial performance. This role demands strong leadership, vision, and the ability to foster sustainable growth while working in diverse project environments and engaging with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new business growth by cultivating relationships with government officials, construction industry leaders, and community stakeholders.
• Manage the tendering process by coordinating with corporate and specialist teams, ensuring bid activities are aligned.
• Execute the business plan efficiently to achieve sales, customer service, profitability, revenue, cash flow, and safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) targets.
• Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing management and technical team along with the wider workforce.
• Cultivate a safe and positive working environment adhering to international standards, including work conditions and accommodation.
• Ensure consistent compliance with company policies, processes, and standards.

Candidate Profile

• HND or equivalent qualification in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or related construction discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of the construction industry, particularly in road, airport, bridge, or industrial park design and construction.
• Cultural adaptability and sensitivity to work effectively across diverse environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities combined with excellent communication, influence, and networking skills.
• Robust commercial, financial, and project management expertise.
• Proven experience in business development, bidding processes, and client relationship management.
