Role Overview

The General Manager role represents a prestigious leadership opportunity based in Ghana, involving an expatriate onsite assignment. This position commands strategic, operational, and commercial oversight of major civil engineering projects and business units in the region. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in high-value construction environments, with strong business acumen and leadership qualities to foster growth and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive development of new business by cultivating relationships with government officials, international and local construction leaders, and community stakeholders.
• Oversee tendering processes, coordinating with corporate and specialist teams to manage bid activities effectively.
• Execute the business plan by optimizing resource utilization to achieve sales, customer service, profitability, revenue, cash flow, and safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) objectives.
• Provide visionary leadership by building and motivating empowered management, technical teams, and the wider workforce.
• Ensure a safe, positive work environment, in compliance with international operational standards, including accommodation and work conditions.
• Maintain strict adherence to company policies, processes, and standards.

Candidate Requirements

• HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or related construction fields.
• Extensive construction industry expertise, particularly in Road, Airport, Bridge, or Industrial Park design and construction.
• Cultural adaptability and comfort working in diverse environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, networking, and influencing capabilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial, financial, and project management principles.
• Experience in business development, bidding, and client relationship management.
