Role Overview
This full-time, on-site General Builder position is based in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The role involves performing daily construction duties such as basic carpentry, bricklaying, groundwork, and general repairs, ensuring all tasks comply with safety standards and specifications. Key activities include interpreting construction drawings, assisting with site preparation, installing fixtures and fittings, and supporting various refurbishment and extension projects.
The builder will work closely with site managers and fellow tradespeople, maintain a clean worksite, adhere to health and safety guidelines, and maintain professional interactions with clients and suppliers. Regular progress reporting and contributing to timely, quality project completion are essential.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in general building tasks including carpentry, bricklaying, and groundwork.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools along with an understanding of safe work practices.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and capability to interpret basic plans or drawings.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for on-site collaboration.
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with UK construction health and safety standards and commitment to company policies.
- Holding a full UK driving license and having reliable transportation to Stratford-Upon-Avon and adjacent locations is advantageous.
- Relevant trade qualifications, completion of an apprenticeship, or comparable hands-on experience are strongly preferred.
