General Assistant

Introduction

Pepkor Lifestyle invites a motivated and dependable individual to fill the role of General Assistant at our retail store in Mazabuka, Southern Province, Zambia. This position focuses on supporting everyday retail functions through maintaining cleanliness, compliance, well-stocked and attractive displays, exceptional service delivery, and collaborative teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the kitchen, toilets, and store areas are clean daily, following OHASA standards, while keeping aisles orderly and display areas safe.
• Manage deliveries by unpacking and organizing stock on shelves, conducting inventory counts, displaying promotional materials, applying suite treatments, and documenting any stock loss or damage.
• Provide outstanding customer service, assist in resolving conflicts, and strive to surpass customer expectations in accordance with the company’s service guidelines.
• Effectively prioritize tasks, foster positive relationships in the workplace, and actively pursue personal skill development.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4) is mandatory.
• At least 1 year of experience working as a general worker is required.
• Familiarity with OHASA legislation, retail customer service standards, and store policies is essential.
• Key abilities include solid communication, effective time management, multitasking, keen attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
