General Assistant

Overview

Pepkor Lifestyle seeks a proactive and dependable General Assistant to become part of our Swakopmund store team. This role involves supporting day-to-day retail functions by ensuring the store is clean, safe, well-stocked, and welcoming to customers, while fostering effective collaboration with colleagues.

Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, restrooms, and store areas daily, adhering to OHASA standards, and ensure aisles and displays remain tidy and hazard-free.
• Manage merchandise by unpacking deliveries, shelving products, performing stock audits, setting up promotional materials, applying suite treatments, and reporting any stock losses or damages.
• Provide outstanding customer service, assist in resolving customer issues, and strive to surpass customer service expectations in accordance with company guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize daily tasks effectively, build strong workplace relationships, and actively engage in personal skill enhancement.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Possession of a Grade 12 Certificate equivalent to NQF Level 4.
• At least one year of work experience in a general labor or support role.
• Familiarity with OHASA safety legislation, best practices in retail customer service, and internal store policies.
• Strong communication abilities, time management skills, capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, keen attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
