Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Gatesperson to join our site teams across various locations within the United Utilities region in Dukinfield. Reporting to the Site Manager or Construction Manager, you will ensure all site-related tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and on schedule, adhering to quality standards and contractual commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks strictly according to Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and adhere to Health, Safety, and Quality company protocols.
- Assist the Site Manager in maintaining a safe environment for all staff, contractors, partners, and visitors.
- Verify that all project documentation accurately reflects the required work.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on Method Statements and Risk Assessments, including Work Instructions, as directed by the Site Manager.
- Document all non-conformances and opportunities for improvement, coordinating corrective actions with Site Manager or General Foreman.
- Ensure all work complies with client specifications and quality requirements.
- Complete duties within proposed timelines, aligning with project schedules.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in water sector construction roles.
- CSCS certification and Traffic Marshall qualification.
- First aid certification.
- Training in underground service avoidance (HSG47).
- SEATS certification for environmental awareness.
- Demonstrated success managing a variety of project sizes while maintaining safety compliance.
Technical Competencies: Risk, Opportunity, and Issue management at foundation level; solution development; client and stakeholder engagement; conflict resolution; resource allocation; change management; quality assurance; and SHEQ practices.
Behavioral Competencies: Effective communication; teamwork; customer orientation; determination to meet targets; integrity; trustworthiness; coaching and feedback skills; leadership qualities.
