Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Garment Technician to join our Design & Production department, contributing to the entire product range. This role operates in a dynamic setting, collaborating closely with another garment technician, a technician assistant, and cross-functional business teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Design and Production teams to oversee the transition from concept to final sample, reporting to the Design and Production Manager.
  • Develop initial technical packs in partnership with design teams for sample development.
  • Measure garments and provide detailed feedback on manufacturing finishes during sampling stages.
  • Lead fit meetings and communicate feedback to overseas factories effectively.
  • Manage daily interactions with suppliers in China regarding refits, fabric selections, finishes, and sizing gradations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Production team to meet critical timelines and project milestones.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the fast fashion sector.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Design, Pattern Making, and Grading are mandatory.
  • Strong fashion trend awareness with the ability to integrate trends into fit sessions.
  • Proficiency in industry software including Excel, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Hands-on experience in pattern making, grading, technical pack creation, and garment specifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various apparel categories.
  • Expertise in fabric testing, textile characteristics, and quality control standards.
  • Effective communicator with excellent organization skills to adhere to project deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Annual salary offered ranges between 85000 and 95000 AUD plus superannuation benefits.
