About the Role

Project Partners is seeking a seasoned Ganger to lead a small team of up to two operatives in carrying out diverse civils activities focused on drainage systems. This full-time, permanent position is located in Ham Hill, near Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Somerset, offering an hourly wage of £19.50.

Primary Duties

• Conduct daily pre-start checks including Point of Works Risk Assessment (POWRA), communicating risks clearly to team members and visitors, and obtaining their signed acknowledgment.
• Execute civils tasks as directed in the work orders safely and efficiently, including operations such as excavation repairs, manhole rebuilding and cover installation, as well as approval and removal of AFD/interceptor units.
• Coordinate requests for plant and materials through the supervisor, ensuring timely availability on site.
• Enforce strict compliance with wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all on-site personnel including visitors, with all necessary gear provided by the company.
• Use handheld devices to accurately document relevant job-related data.
• Complete operational paperwork neatly and promptly.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections for roadworthiness including trailers and towable plant and maintain vehicles in a clean and operational state.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols as per company instructions and site-specific risk assessments (SSWR).
• Follow directives issued by the supervisor or civils manager diligently.

Experience Needed

• Background in groundwork or utility services is essential.
• Practical familiarity with industry tools and machinery.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Valid full clean driving license.
• Certification in Streetworks (NRSWA).
• Qualified in Cat and Genny operations.

Desirable Certifications

• Excavator operation license.
• Deep excavation training.
• Abrasive wheels certification.
• Training in confined space working.
