Fund Accountant

Role Overview

The Fund Accountant is responsible for supporting the precise accounting of funds, producing accurate financial reports, enforcing financial controls, and ensuring regulatory compliance for a variety of asset management entities including funds, companies, Special Purpose Companies (SPCs), and discretionary mandates.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records including fund accounting data, general ledgers, and charts of accounts.
• Prepare critical financial documents such as financial statements, trial balances, management reports, and various financial schedules.
• Manage fund-related transactions including expenses, accruals, fees, subscriptions, redemptions, income, and cash flow activities.
• Provide support for accounting systems, uphold data integrity and quality, implement and monitor controls, and oversee finance operations.
• Collaborate with external and internal parties including auditors, fund managers, administrators, custodians, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, and organizational policies.

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management; professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA or an MBA specializing in Finance are preferred.
• Have at least 10 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, specifically including background in fund accounting or using portfolio management platforms.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in financial reporting, application of accounting standards, internal controls, financial systems, and analytical skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication capabilities and effective execution skills.
• Must be fluent in English.
