Full-Time Store Associate

Position Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will play an integral role in creating a pleasant shopping atmosphere by merchandising and stocking products, operating the cash register, and maintaining store cleanliness. Your efforts will contribute to a seamless customer experience through teamwork and outstanding service.

Work Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time role averaging 30 or more hours weekly. Starting pay is $19.50 per hour, with scheduled increments in subsequent years as follows: Year 2 - $20.00, Year 3 - $20.50, Year 4 - $20.50, and Year 5 - $21.50.

Key Duties

• Exemplify ALDI's customer service standards and escalate any customer issues to management when necessary.
• Notify store management immediately if there is loss due to expired or damaged merchandise.
• Efficiently and accurately use the point-of-sale (POS) system for scanning and processing purchases, reporting any scanning errors to management.
• Follow cash handling protocols and policies.
• Manage checkout lines by adhering to the line policy and opening new registers when required to maintain efficiency.
• Stock shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms with neat presentation to maximize sales potential.
• Accurately fulfill curbside pickup orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area.
• Maintain zone and merchandising standards continually.
• Support store management in achieving operational efficiency and minimizing losses.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and processes.
• Promote a safe work environment by identifying and addressing hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment functionality.
• Handle inventory carefully and follow product handling guidelines.
• Perform store cleaning duties adhering to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move through different store areas.
• Lift and place products up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead placements.
• Operate store equipment such as cash registers, electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in different temperature environments including freezer and cooler zones.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Candidate Qualifications

• Deliver prompt and courteous customer service.
• Operate a variety of store equipment including registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI's operating policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail.
• Work well independently and cooperatively with others.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently within set timeframes.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Meet required availability commitments.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail work experience is desirable.
