Full-Time Store Associate

Position Overview

The Store Associate role involves maintaining product displays through merchandising and stocking, operating the cashier, and performing cleaning duties to ensure the store's appearance remains attractive. This position supports the ALDI team by offering excellent customer service and collaborating effectively with colleagues to enhance the shopping experience.

Work Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time role averaging more than 30 hours per week. The starting pay rate is $20.00 per hour, with scheduled wage increases as follows: $20.50 in the second year, $21.00 in the third and fourth years, and $22.00 in the fifth year.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify company customer service standards and escalate concerns appropriately to management.
• Report any product loss resulting from damage or expiration to management.
• Use the POS system accurately to scan and complete customer transactions, communicating any scanning issues to management.
• Follow cash handling policies diligently.
• Manage checkout lanes efficiently by adhering to the line policy and opening additional lanes when needed.
• Stock shelves and organize product displays in alignment with merchandising planograms to optimize sales.
• Process curbside pickup orders with accuracy, confirming order contents and ensuring prompt delivery to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and zoning standards along with merchandising excellence at all times.
• Support store management efforts to improve operational efficiency and minimize inventory loss.
• Comply fully with all company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, maintaining proper ergonomics, and ensuring equipment is well maintained.
• Adhere to inventory handling and product care guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to meet company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move throughout the store.
• Capability to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various levels, including overhead.
• Experience or willingness to operate equipment such as cash registers, electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in various temperature environments, including freezers and coolers.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning supplies safely.

Qualifications and Skills

• Provide prompt and courteous customer service consistently.
• Operate in-store equipment effectively, including registers, floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Interpret and apply ALDI operational policies and procedures correctly.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Perform basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently within given deadlines.
• Maintain dependable attendance and meet scheduling requirements.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
