Full-Time Store Associate

Role Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI USA in Fargo, ND, you will play a key role in supporting store operations by stocking merchandise, managing checkout processes, and maintaining overall store cleanliness. Collaborating closely with team members, you will contribute to providing excellent customer service and enhancing the shopping experience.

Work Details

• This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours weekly.
• Starting hourly wage is $18.50, with gradual increases each year up to $20.50 in the fifth year.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify customer service standards and escalate any issues to management when necessary.
• Report any product losses due to spoilage or damage to store management.
• Operate the POS system accurately and notify management of any scanning problems.
• Adhere strictly to the store's cash handling policies.
• Implement the line policy by opening additional checkout lanes to ensure efficient customer flow.
• Stock products following merchandising planograms to optimize sales and maintain shelf organization.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by selecting correct items, verifying order accuracy, and delivering them promptly to customers' vehicles.
• Maintain high standards of store zones and merchandising displays at all times.
• Support management in meeting operational efficiency and loss control objectives.
• Follow company policies, safety protocols, and inventory procedures.
• Identify hazards, promote ergonomic safety, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Perform cleaning duties adhering to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move within the store environment.
• Lift and place merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds at various shelf heights, including overhead.
• Use equipment such as cash registers, electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in varied temperatures, including freezer and cooler settings.
• Utilize glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications

• Provide courteous and prompt customer service.
• Operate all required store equipment efficiently.
• Understand and apply ALDI operational policies and guidelines.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Follow instructions carefully and pay attention to detail.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within set timeframes to maximize productivity.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
• Meet availability requirements for scheduling.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
