Full-Time Store Associate

Role Overview

As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will be entrusted with a variety of tasks including stocking and merchandising products, cashier duties, and maintaining store cleanliness to ensure an inviting shopping environment. In this role, collaboration with team members and delivering outstanding customer service are key elements to enhancing the overall customer experience.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This is a full-time position averaging over 30 hours per week. The starting pay is $18.50 per hour with scheduled wage increases: $19.00 in the second year, $19.50 in the third and fourth years, and $20.50 starting the fifth year.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, escalating any issues to store management as needed.
• Report instances of loss from expired or damaged merchandise to management.
• Use the point-of-sale system accurately to process sales and communicate any scanning problems.
• Comply with established cash handling policies and procedures.
• Manage checkout efficiency by following line policies and opening additional lanes during busy times.
• Stock shelves and displays in accordance with visual merchandising plans to optimize sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by gathering the correct products, verifying contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles.
• Maintain merchandising and zone standards consistently.
• Support management in meeting operational efficiency and loss prevention targets.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures.
• Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying potential hazards, ensuring correct ergonomic practices, and keeping equipment well maintained.
• Follow inventory procedures and proper product handling guidelines.
• Perform routine cleaning duties up to company standards.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, twisting, and moving within the store premises.
• Able to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment including cash registers, hand and electric pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
• Work in various temperature environments such as freezers and coolers.
• Utilize glass and multipurpose cleaning agents safely.

Qualifications

• Deliver prompt, courteous customer service.
• Proficient in operating all necessary store equipment like cash registers, floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Understand and apply ALDI’s operating policies and procedures accurately.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform basic arithmetic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Pay close attention to instructions and detail-oriented tasks.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Organize, prioritize, and complete assignments efficiently within set timeframes.
• Maintain dependable attendance and meet schedule availability requirements.

Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail work experience is advantageous.
