Full-Time Barista

Role Overview

As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting and serving a variety of coffee and espresso beverages alongside related food items to customers at our Calgary location. Your duties include engaging with customers to understand and guide their coffee preferences and preparing drinks following established recipes.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and connect with customers to identify their coffee preferences and requirements
• Instruct customers on our coffee menu by explaining drink options and answering related questions
• Prepare coffee-based drinks such as espresso, latte, and cappuccino using set recipes and preparation methods
• Promote coffee beans and coffee brewing equipment by explaining differences and demonstrating operation
• Manage inventory by restocking coffee beans, brewing equipment, pastries, and related supplies
• Maintain equipment functionality through regular operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and arranging repairs
• Ensure a clean and safe workspace in line with organizational safety and sanitation standards
• Enhance quality through ongoing process review, improvements, and upkeep of the store and bar appearance

Candidate Profile

• Strong customer service aptitude
• Previous experience as a barista considered an advantage
• Capability to comprehend and execute oral and written instructions, and seek clarification when necessary
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
• Physical fitness required to perform job duties

Compensation and Additional Details

This position offers an hourly wage of $17, adjusted based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal parity. Canadian work experience is not mandatory. Candidates should note that artificial intelligence tools may be part of the recruitment and screening process.
