About Oxford Data Plan
Oxford Data Plan is a company specializing in alternative data, enabling investors, funds, and analysts to discover valuable insights in unconventional datasets. Our platform is a vital channel through which clients find, assess, and utilize our data products. Founded in 2022 and currently comprising over 70 employees, we operate globally and fully remotely.
Role Overview
We are seeking a mid-level Full-Stack Web Platform Engineer to develop and enhance our web applications and internal tools. This role involves working extensively with a Python backend (using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask) and a React/Next.js frontend. A major responsibility will be managing CRM integrations and identity services to ensure seamless synchronization of client, lead, and account information across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack features using Python backend services and React-based frontend technologies.
- Manage integration points between external CRMs (like HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and the web platform, including synchronizing data, implementing webhooks, and enabling bidirectional updates.
- Create and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs that connect frontend components to backend services and external data sources.
- Collaborate closely with sales, client success, and product teams to ensure smooth data flow between CRM and platform systems.
- Oversee and extend integration with external identity providers such as Okta, Auth0, and Azure AD, covering client and internal authentication processes including protocols like SSO, SAML, and OAuth2/OIDC.
- Contribute to system architecture decisions related to data modeling, caching strategies, and API design.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; actively participate in code reviews.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving production issues across the technology stack.
- Engage in continuous integration and deployment activities utilizing Docker, GitHub Actions, and cloud infrastructure.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience as a full-stack or web engineer.
- Proficiency in Python backend development using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Experience with React or Next.js for frontend implementation.
- Practical knowledge of integrating web applications with external CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), including data synchronization and webhook management.
- Familiarity with identity provider integrations for authentication workflows, including SSO, SAML, and OAuth2/OIDC.
- Experience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, ideally MySQL.
- Comfort with Git workflows, containerization using Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Usage of AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor in daily development.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment.
Preferred Skills
- Background or experience in fintech, capital markets, or data analytics.
- Exposure to market data, financial reporting dashboards, or time-series data.
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization and accessibility standards.
Why Join Us?
- Fully remote working arrangement, allowing you to work from any location.
- Opportunity to contribute to a platform operating at the interface between data, finance, and technology.
- Being part of a small, senior-level team with substantial responsibility for architecture and product decisions.

Additional Information
- Work locations include Nzalae/Nzawa in Kitui County, Kenya, though the role is fully remote.
