Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer specializing in backend programming and application/API security to architect, build, and sustain scalable, secure, and dependable backend services along with REST APIs. The role involves collaboration with frontend, mobile, QA, DevOps, security, and product units to deliver enterprise-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain backend systems using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Architect and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Develop business processes, workflow logic, and integrate with third-party APIs and backend components.
• Build secure APIs catering to web and mobile platforms.
• Apply authentication and authorization through Spring Security utilizing modern security standards.
• Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), OAuth 2.0, JSON Web Tokens (JWT), token validation, and enforce API security.
• Practice secure coding techniques; identify and fix security vulnerabilities in applications.
• Design efficient data models and queries for both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Leverage asynchronous messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Enhance application performance, scalability, uptime, and reliability.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Investigate and resolve production-level issues with thorough root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain logging, auditing, monitoring, and security controls.
• Work closely within cross-functional teams including Android, frontend, QA, DevOps, security, and product.
• Engage in peer code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Adhere to Agile methodologies and contribute to relevant technical documentation.

Required Skills

• Minimum 8 years' proven experience in Java backend development.
• Expertise with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Proficient with Spring Security.
• Deep understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Practical knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and RBAC implementations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and secure API design principles.
• Awareness of API security risks and secure coding best practices.
• Familiarity with OWASP and other common API security vulnerabilities.
• Experience using JPA/Hibernate for database interactions.
• Strong command over SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Exposure to Redis and asynchronous messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Understanding of HTTPS, TLS, and secure communication protocols.
• Competence in Git version control and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Basic familiarity with Docker containers and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Prior backend development experience for mobile or enterprise-grade applications.
• Working with high load APIs and distributed system architectures.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectural patterns.
• Experience optimizing applications for performance and scalability.
• Skills in security vulnerability assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with OpenID Connect (OIDC) and service-to-service authentication.
• Background in fintech, banking, payments, or regulated industries is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of device management or enterprise mobility solutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
