Role Overview

This exclusive position integrates you into our global CTRM and Operations Desk Developer team based in Dubai, closely collaborating with physical operations and trading desks. You will work alongside both technical and non-technical experts to design and build innovative full-stack applications that support our desk operations. This role provides a unique chance to influence operational decisions by delivering cutting-edge solutions.

You will be instrumental in transforming and modernizing the existing business’s automation tools landscape. Your ability to rapidly grasp business requirements, communicate clearly, work autonomously, and prototype quickly will be essential for advancing state-of-the-art solutions that empower the physical operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in rapid prototyping by partnering with operations and commercial teams to develop market-focused business applications and maintain existing tools, iterating swiftly based on user feedback to create practical, value-adding solutions.
• Manage project lifecycles independently within the team by analyzing ongoing business needs and user requirements.
• Recommend innovative and dependable technical solutions to enhance existing processes or uncover new business opportunities.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of Vitol's Management Information Systems platforms and tools, leveraging their functionalities to strengthen the business development platform.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant university degree.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in full stack Python development, ideally complemented by .NET C# backend development, with strong understanding of ORM and API frameworks.
• At least 3 years of full stack Typescript React development experience.
• Proven expertise with advanced agentic workflow tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or OpenCode.
• Mandatory experience with Python libraries including FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Pydantic.
• Preferred experience with C# Entity Framework.
• Experience using agentic workflow tools like Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work, OpenWork, n8n, or CrewAI is advantageous.
• Proficiency in building, maintaining, and optimizing relational SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Strong enthusiasm for developing in Python, C#, and React, coupled with an eagerness to engage with both the development community and business stakeholders.
• Commitment to keeping current with trends and advancements in Python, C#, and Typescript React ecosystems.
• Experience in commodity trading sector is a plus.
