Role Overview
Join a vibrant and innovative activewear startup as a freelance E-commerce Operations Officer, playing a key role in launching and managing the initial phases of a premium direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand. This part-time, fully remote position suits professionals skilled in e-commerce operations, especially within the fashion, apparel, or beauty industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Shopify platform is operationally ready by setting up and verifying products, SKUs, and inventory accuracy.
- Oversee orders and payment processing, ensuring prompt handling and resolving any issues that arise.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and couriers to manage shipping within UAE, GCC countries, and internationally.
- Conduct reconciliations between orders, inventory, and 3PL records to ensure operational precision.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), develop operational trackers, manage returns workflow, and compile weekly dashboards to monitor operations.
- Address and troubleshoot operational challenges collaborating with external providers and technical support teams.
- Identify and implement cost-effective improvements to current processes to enhance efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing e-commerce operations based on Shopify.
- Comprehensive understanding of 3PL fulfillment, inventory control, shipping logistics, and returns management.
- Experience working with DTC brands, preferably in fashion, apparel, or beauty sectors.
- Knowledgeable about shipping regulations and logistics within UAE/GCC and across borders.
- Adept at designing clear SOPs and creating operational tracking tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously.
- Availability to work remotely for approximately 5 to 8 hours each week.
- Preferred immediate availability with possibilities for engagement extension.
