Job description

About the Role

Based in Homebush, Sydney, this FP&A Manager position reports to the GM of Finance and oversees the financial planning and analysis for the Asia Pacific division across multiple business segments. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the annual budgeting, strategic planning, monthly forecasting, and financial reporting cycles. Acting as the liaison between the APAC operations, Group FP&A team, and the US parent company, the position ensures consistent and timely compliance with group-wide planning and reporting standards.

The Manager will build and lead an expanding FP&A team starting with one direct report, delivering insightful financial analysis covering performance, working capital, CAPEX, and cashflow. Collaboration with commercial finance teams and business leaders across the region is critical along with presenting key results to senior executives and the Board. The role includes a strong focus on standardizing and automating reporting and forecasting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and execution of the annual budget and long-term forecasting processes, including identification of key initiatives and investment needs.
  • Manage the monthly forecasting process ensuring alignment across divisional business units.
  • Create and implement standardized templates and methodologies for forecasting, planning, and analysis that conform with Group requirements.
  • Oversee preparation and detailed analysis of monthly and quarterly financial reports for executive and Board review.
  • Provide comprehensive analysis and commentary on financial performance metrics including working capital, CAPEX, and cashflow.
  • Detect financial trends and furnish actionable insights to divisional and regional leadership teams.
  • Act as the central point of contact between the APAC division FP&A and the Group FP&A and US parent company teams.
  • Advance and streamline forecasting processes using advanced data analytic techniques to enhance forecast accuracy continually.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve financial reporting processes and automation.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and perform ad-hoc financial and operational analyses.
  • Coordinate and report on quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for principal divisional initiatives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing FP&A team fostering collaboration and results orientation.

Candidate Profile and Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate is a CPA or CA certified finance professional possessing 6 to 8 years of FP&A experience in a multinational environment with a strong Asia Pacific presence. They must demonstrate strong business partnering skills with a blend of commercial awareness and technical expertise to interpret complex financial data effectively.

Outstanding communication and influencing abilities are essential, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels, delivering presentations to executive audiences, and clearly translating financial concepts to non-financial counterparts. Proven leadership skills and experience developing effective teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings are required.

Preferred technical skills include experience with TM1 and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), alongside advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Culture and Compensation

This opportunity provides a strategic leadership role influential over regional planning, investment, and operational performance within a large consumer services firm. The organization promotes a values-driven, diverse, respectful, and psychologically safe work environment emphasizing safety and employee wellbeing.

The role offers a competitive remuneration package including a base salary of $180,000 plus superannuation and a performance bonus. Onsite parking is available with options for work-from-home arrangements.
