Role Overview

We are seeking an outstanding software engineer capable of creating tailored technical solutions and collaborating closely with machine learning teams to enhance Chalk's proprietary infrastructure. This role involves engaging directly with customers to design and implement effective feature pipelines addressing critical challenges in healthcare, financial services, and recommendation engines. Opportunities include contributing to projects such as cancer detection, fraud prevention, and product recommendation. Joining as an early team member, you will work on-site in Singapore and play a pivotal role in a rapidly growing startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Chalk's technology solutions for clients and prospective customers, integrating with Chalk's infrastructure in varied environments.
• Collaborate intimately with Engineering and Sales departments.
• Serve as the main technical liaison before and after sales, facilitating onboarding and providing customer support.
• Advise clients on new product offerings as their business needs evolve.
• Participate in recruitment efforts and contribute to expanding the Engineering team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong technical foundation with experience in software development or machine learning model creation.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as strong problem-solving, storytelling, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience collaborating closely with sales teams and customers is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Past involvement with machine learning or data-driven products and services.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning Operations and infrastructure.
• Prior experience as a forward-deployed engineer in a dynamic startup environment focused on machine learning.
