Job description
Overview
Team Global Express is currently searching for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our Townsville operations team. This permanent full-time position runs Monday through Friday, commencing early at 6:30 am, within a dynamic freight environment focused on safe and efficient freight movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely to load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Handle and organize freight effectively throughout the depot and yard.
- Accurately sort and scan freight for dispatch.
- Inspect freight and report any damage or inconsistencies.
- Support general freight handling and depot-related tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with drivers and the Operations team to facilitate smooth freight logistics.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, including compliance with Chain of Responsibility and load-restraint standards.
- Ensure the working area remains clean, orderly, and safe.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possess a valid LF Forklift License—an essential requirement.
- Demonstrate prior forklift operation experience, preferably within transport, warehousing, logistics, or freight sectors.
- Experience in loading and unloading trailers and trucks.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and correct freight handling procedures.
- Excellent communication and ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally demanding setting.
- Dependability and a solid work ethic are imperative.
- Holding a current HC or MC Driver Licence is advantageous, offering greater operational flexibility.
- Capability to perform manual handling tasks as part of daily duties.
