Job description

Overview

Team Global Express is currently searching for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our Townsville operations team. This permanent full-time position runs Monday through Friday, commencing early at 6:30 am, within a dynamic freight environment focused on safe and efficient freight movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely to load and unload trucks and trailers.
  • Handle and organize freight effectively throughout the depot and yard.
  • Accurately sort and scan freight for dispatch.
  • Inspect freight and report any damage or inconsistencies.
  • Support general freight handling and depot-related tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with drivers and the Operations team to facilitate smooth freight logistics.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, including compliance with Chain of Responsibility and load-restraint standards.
  • Ensure the working area remains clean, orderly, and safe.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Possess a valid LF Forklift License—an essential requirement.
  • Demonstrate prior forklift operation experience, preferably within transport, warehousing, logistics, or freight sectors.
  • Experience in loading and unloading trailers and trucks.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and correct freight handling procedures.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally demanding setting.
  • Dependability and a solid work ethic are imperative.
  • Holding a current HC or MC Driver Licence is advantageous, offering greater operational flexibility.
  • Capability to perform manual handling tasks as part of daily duties.
