Overview
ChampionX, now part of SLB, is seeking a dedicated Forge Machine Operator for their Edmonton manufacturing facility. This opportunity allows you to contribute to a global technology leader focused on energy innovation and sustainability, with a culture that values diversity, continuous improvement, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections on forged products to ensure standards are met.
- Operate the forging machine efficiently and safely.
- Make minor adjustments during the machine setup process as needed.
- Grind rods according to job requirements.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to production tasks.
- Conduct daily maintenance on the forge machine and forge arm to maintain optimal operation.
- Adhere strictly to all relevant rules, safety regulations, and legislation.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing principles to support continuous process improvement.
Pre-Employment Conditions
- Applicants must pass drug and alcohol screening.
- Fitness-for-duty assessments are required.
- Background checks will be conducted before employment.
Work Conditions and Schedule
- This is a full-time permanent position based in Edmonton.
- Shift work will rotate between day, afternoon, and night shifts.
- Weekend work and overtime may be needed depending on business demands.
- Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for at least 8 hours per day.
Candidate Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking English clearly.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
