Food Service Associate

Overview

As a Food Service Associate, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving meals while ensuring food quality and appealing presentation standards are met.

Compensation

This role offers a starting hourly wage of 18 dollars. Final pay will reflect your skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We comply with pay transparency laws and provide more details on total compensation during hiring. Canadian work experience is not essential. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Transport pans, kettles, and trays safely between work stations, stove, and refrigerator according to safety protocols.
• Properly store food items by wrapping, dating, and following rotation and safety guidelines.
• Set up daily items available for purchase.
• Perform routine cleaning duties, including garbage removal to designated areas.
• Distribute necessary supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as required.
• Apply approved recipes and production standards to maintain quality, temperature, and serving portions. Alert cooks of temperature deviations.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service according to established service procedures.
• Handle customer concerns and communicate pertinent information to supervisors.
• Ensure strict adherence to sanitation and safety regulations.
• Serve customers across retail sections including cashiering and line service.

Qualifications and Skills

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Experience with cash registers is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities to handle demanding workloads.
• Ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written, to follow instructions accurately.
• Previous experience in food service sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, or fast food is advantageous.
• Physical capability to fulfill job responsibilities.
