Job Overview
This role involves managing the daily operations of facility management, ensuring that all buildings, equipment, and infrastructure meet high-quality standards. The supervisor will also oversee safety compliance related to occupational health, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily maintenance and upkeep of the facility and its equipment.
- Ensure adherence to safety programs, including occupational health and fire safety policies.
- Conduct frequent facility inspections to detect potential hazards and assess maintenance needs.
- Lead emergency preparedness activities such as evacuation drills and crisis management protocols.
- Handle vendor relations, managing contracts and ensuring service delivery for maintenance, safety, and security systems.
- Provide training to staff on safety procedures, compliance, and hazard awareness.
- Compile and present reports concerning facility performance, safety audits, and incident investigations to upper management.
- Serve as the main contact for any facility emergencies or safety incidents.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of facility management practices and applicable safety legislation.
- Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating risks, investigating incidents, and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to manage diverse teams and cultivate a safety-conscious environment.
- Expertise in emergency response and crisis handling.
- Familiarity with sustainable facility management and energy-saving techniques.
- Effective report writing and communication skills for presenting findings.
Experience and Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in facility and occupational safety management.
- 2 to 3 years leading teams or managing safety and facility operations.
- Experience managing maintenance personnel, safety initiatives, and conducting compliance audits.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in large or multi-location facilities.
- Background in budgeting and implementing cost reduction strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related fields; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, or IFMA preferred.
- Exceptional oral and written English communication skills; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems.
- Strong abilities in leadership, multitasking, communication, and problem-solving emphasized.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized facility or safety management software.
