Job Description

  • Carry out planned and reactive floor laying tasks across client locations, ranging from routine maintenance and minor repairs to small-scale projects.
  • Handle various types of floor coverings, including vinyl, carpet, and safety flooring.
  • Perform minor repairs on wooden sub-floor structures.
  • Estimate job scope and material requirements accurately.
  • Keep precise records of completed tasks and identify any necessary follow-up work using our job management system.
  • Operate on a pre-planned schedule, including occasional out-of-hours and on-call responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a floor layer with knowledge of fitting various floor coverings such as vinyl, carpet, and cap and cove.
  • Previous work within the facilities maintenance sector is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • A proactive problem-solving approach and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills are beneficial.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Additional qualifications such as flooring certifications, apprenticeships, project management experience, and health & safety training (e.g., IOSH) are advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary between £33,280 and £34,500 depending on experience, with potential earnings close to £40,000 including travel time.
  • Provided company van along with a fuel card.
  • Optional overtime opportunities without obligation.
