Floor Covering Associate (Full-Time)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, warm, and proactive service by following Home Depot's GET customer service model: Greet, Engage, and Thank every customer.
• Proactively approach customers across the store, accompany them to relevant merchandise in any department.
• Ask insightful, open-ended questions to understand the customer's project needs and expertise level.
• Promote additional services including Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services when appropriate.
• Drive sales by explaining different product options ranging from basic to premium, and recommend related items outside the floor covering department.
• Educate customers on their entire project requirements beyond individual products.
• Utilize empowerment programs as needed to provide satisfactory customer solutions.
• Maintain daily stock standards such as organizing, labeling, and cleaning products in your department.
• Develop and sustain thorough knowledge of all products within your department and neighboring departments through continuous learning.
• Adhere strictly to safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
• Work takes place in a warehouse setting, which might be dusty and noisy, with open doors leading to drafts and fluctuating temperatures.
• Physical duties include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.

Qualifications

• At minimum, a High School diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Between 1 to 2 years of experience in retail or trade is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer engagement.

Additional Information

• No travel is required for this role.
• Reports to the Department Supervisor.
