About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift Material Handling Associate to support our retail operations. This role involves shelving merchandise, organizing the sales floor to maintain a welcoming and secure shopping environment, and delivering customer service as needed. Operators frequently use retractable and fork-style forklifts, as well as order picker forklifts, to retrieve and place items on shelves. Additionally, associates prepare assigned orders with care, ensuring products remain undamaged, label them accurately, and place them in designated storage areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle goods by stocking shelves to maintain full inventory levels.
- Unload pallets and place merchandise on shelves following guidelines.
- Merchandise new products and promotional items.
- Keep aisles clean and organized to facilitate safe and easy shopping with merchandise well presented.
- Arrange upper shelves precisely, including alignment of products.
- Coordinate with other material handling team members to ensure correct storage of all items.
- Adhere to the company's customer service model: greet customers, build rapport, and thank them upon completion.
- When appropriate, ask open-ended questions about customers’ projects to assess their expertise and needs.
- Safely move merchandise from temporary storage to high shelves or retrieve from upper shelves using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure customer safety and free movement through aisles.
- Follow all policies and procedures regarding safety and loss prevention.

Physical and Working Conditions
- Involves bending, stretching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 3.5 to 5 meters (12 to 16 feet) to handle stock.
- Work schedule varies and includes night shifts, potential evening and weekend shifts.
- Environment may be dusty and noisy.
- Operating forklifts emits gas fumes.
- Frequent open doors can cause drafts and temperature fluctuations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of experience in retail or distribution is an advantage.
- Experience operating retractable or fork forklifts and order picker forklifts is beneficial.

Higher Secondary (Class 12)
