About the Fixed Plant Shift Fitter Role

The position requires a skilled Fixed Plant Fitter with at least three years of post-trade experience, specifically in shift fitter roles within mining operations. The successful candidate will maintain and repair surface and underground mining equipment independently, working on installation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.

This role operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off continuous shift roster, supporting both surface and underground operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and installations on underground equipment including crushers and conveyor systems
• Maintain and service diverse pumping systems used onsite
• Apply advanced problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns
• Ensure high-quality workmanship with meticulous attention to detail
• Work in strict adherence to the site's health and safety policies and procedures
• Collaborate efficiently within a team while proactively supporting colleagues and following direction

Candidate Requirements

• Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitter) qualification
• Minimum of three years relevant heavy industry mining experience as a shift fitter
• Demonstrated proficiency with Sandvik crushers and screens, conveyors, ball mills, Warman pumps, and underground dewatering systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with independent work capability during urgent breakdowns
• Proactive approach and prioritization of safety in all work activities
