Financial Reporting Assistant Manager - FAAS Advisory

About the Role

Join Grant Thornton Ireland as a Financial Reporting Assistant Manager within our FAAS Advisory team based in Cork. This role focuses on partnering with asset management clients to handle financial reporting engagements, conduct business process analyses and remediation, and provide interim staffing solutions as needed. You will collaborate with your team to deliver quality outcomes while adhering to client deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily execution of financial reporting projects by assigning and overseeing tasks among preparers and reviewers.
• Examine financial statements, disclosures, supporting documentation, and audit preparation materials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee project timelines, manage reporting deadlines, track outstanding items, and maintain effective communication with clients, administrators, and auditors.
• Mentor team members on fund reporting standards, review procedures, and when to escalate issues practically.
• Integrate approved artificial intelligence applications into regular workflows, encompassing tasks like prior-year data roll-forward, disclosure checks, reconciliation, and summarizing audit queries.
• Validate AI-assisted outputs by documenting exceptions and ensuring thorough human oversight before finalization.
• Develop strong working relationships with client representatives.
• Participate in fund accounting assignments and regulatory reporting tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent IFAC certification.
• Between four to five years' relevant experience in investment fund financial reporting, including 1-2 years leading teams, managing projects, and handling client deliverables.
• Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with investment fund financial statements and application of accounting standards like US GAAP, IFRS, and Lux GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver constructive feedback in reviews.
• Understanding of AI implementation risks, output validation, data privacy safeguards, and guidelines for responsible adoption.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to multi-GAAP or multi-jurisdictional financial reporting frameworks.
• Experience in fund accounting, including period-end close and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and fund accounting platforms such as Geneva, Investran, and Yardi, alongside financial reporting and statement generation tools like Workiva, Donnelley/DFIN, Confluence, and OneStream.
• Background in delivering financial reporting transformation projects and technology-driven process automation.
• An awareness of external trends and an ability to convert emerging AI technologies into practical and controlled applications.
