Overview

This position is a key role within Chubb's Financial Lines team, dedicated to foster profitable growth, nurture key client and broker connections, and uphold high service standards across the Financial Lines portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver profitable underwriting outcomes aligned with the Financial Lines portfolio goals.
  • Evaluate, price, and negotiate new business and renewal proposals within delegated limits.
  • Exert sound underwriting discretion and effectively utilize endorsements and pricing models.
  • Escalate high-risk cases beyond authority to product managers for review.
  • Offer specialist advice on intricate risks and portfolio oversight.
  • Track claims data, monitor premium trends, and assess loss developments.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior underwriting staff.
  • Identify and develop new business and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain and strengthen fruitful relationships with brokers, insured parties, and market collaborators.
  • Create, present, and negotiate quotes for new submissions and renewals.
  • Engage in business development initiatives including broker visits and presentations.
  • Advocate Chubb’s product offerings and market positioning.
  • Gather and disseminate competitive market insights and emerging trends within the team.
  • Consistently meet service performance standards and enhance client and broker satisfaction.
  • Leverage reports and analytics to identify service improvement opportunities.
  • Support a culture focused on continuous process and service quality enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Financial Lines insurance products and market dynamics.
  • Strong technical underwriting skills complemented by excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customised underwriting solutions for complex risk profiles.
  • Skillful relationship builder with brokers, clients, and internal teams across organizational levels.
  • Knowledgeable in pricing methodologies and risk modelling techniques.
