Financial Director

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The Financial Director will oversee the entire finance function including business and cost controls, cash management, treasury, corporate finance, tax planning, budgeting, internal controls, and governance. This key role acts as a strategic partner to senior leaders, enabling performance enhancement, growth, and long-term sustainability. The position includes managing financial operations for a business covering upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.

• Lead comprehensive budgeting, cost management, and operational performance tracking to enhance efficiency.
• Manage group-wide cash flow and working capital across various entities and international locations.
• Conduct investment appraisals such as capital expenditure reviews and internal rate of return (IRR) analyses.
• Drive corporate finance activities including fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and deal facilitation.
• Develop and apply effective cross-border tax and legal entity frameworks that are sustainable and compliant.
• Represent the corporate office's interests whilst supporting the strategic initiatives of different business groups.
• Enhance the finance department’s capability and cultivate high-performing teams.
• Provide insights and guidelines for strategic financial planning and optimal resource allocation on a long-term basis.

Candidate Requirements

• University degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics; advanced qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 15 years climbing progressively through finance leadership roles within extensive, complex organizations operating internationally.
• At least 5 years experience in senior leadership positions with close collaboration alongside business executives.
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial and management reporting, with strong governance and compliance acumen.
• Expertise in treasury operations, corporate financial management, international tax planning, and entity structuring.
• Tangible experience handling controllership duties, fostering banking relationships, and managing merger and acquisition processes.
• A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills capable of balancing governance demands, operational requirements, and long-term organizational goals.
