Company Overview
Our client is a multinational FinTech startup headquartered in Dublin, currently navigating a significant growth phase. They are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee crucial aspects of financial management including control, reporting, planning, governance, and finance operations.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Take comprehensive accountability for the company’s financial management, governance, control, and reporting, ensuring information accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes such as management accounts preparation, statutory reporting, maintenance of accounting policies, and compilation of financial statements.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities, supplying senior leadership with insightful analysis regarding business performance, profitability, and cash flow.
- Establish and uphold a strong, scalable financial control framework with appropriate processes, policies, and governance to support business expansion.
- Manage compliance with tax laws, regulatory mandates, and other financial requirements through collaboration with external advisers and stakeholders.
- Serve as a pivotal finance partner providing commercial insights to leadership and broader teams, aiding in strategic and operational decisions.
- Coordinate relationships and communication with external auditors, advisers, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Promote ongoing enhancements in finance functions by advancing processes, systems, automation, and reporting to develop an efficient, scalable financial operation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional qualification as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA holder.
- Preferably trained at a leading advisory or accounting firm with over 5 years post-qualified experience, ideally within financial services, fintech, technology, or another rapidly growing industry sector.
- Proven senior-level experience managing financial reporting, control, and governance functions.
- Strong expertise in technical accounting, complemented by analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making strengths.
- Experience working in a dynamic, high-growth entrepreneurial environment.
