About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a seasoned Financial Controller to join a dynamic and expanding organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, this vital leadership role involves overseeing the finance function, ensuring precise financial reporting, enhancing financial controls, and aiding strategic business decisions. The position offers substantial interaction with senior leaders and the chance to promote ongoing improvements in finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of monthly management accounts, board-level reports, and financial analyses.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities to guarantee timely and accurate financial statements.
• Supervise budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, delivering insightful commercial advice to enhance business outcomes.
• Construct financial models and performance dashboards to assist strategic planning and informed decision-making.
• Maintain and improve internal financial controls, governance, and risk protocols.
• Manage the annual statutory audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, taxation, and regulatory reporting requirements aligned with accounting standards and legal regulations.
• Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to foster business growth and elevate financial results.
• Identify and implement process optimizations to streamline reporting and boost operational effectiveness.
• Lead finance-centric projects such as systems upgrades and workflow enhancements.
• Guide and develop finance team members by cultivating accountability and a focus on continuous advancement.

Skills and Experience Required

• Qualified Accountant credentials such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
• At least three years of post-qualification experience in industry or a blend of practice and industry roles.
• Prior roles as Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, or Financial Controller.
• Comprehensive technical accounting expertise with proven experience in preparing both management and statutory accounts.
• Skilled in managing budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
• Strong commercial insight with the ability to convert financial data into actionable business knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills with experienced stakeholder management.
• Beneficial experience in steering finance projects, ERP system implementations, or process improvements.
• Proficient with advanced Excel and familiar with ERP software systems.
