About the Role
An expanding company located in Monaghan seeks to appoint a Finance Manager or Financial Controller. This role offers valuable progression opportunities within a dynamic business environment. Candidates with experience at one of the Big Four accounting firms are essential for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Manage critical aspects of the month-end closing process to deliver precise and timely management reports.
- Prepare and critically assess management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and detailed financial analyses.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and support audit processes.
- Examine performance metrics, investigate discrepancies, and transform financial data into actionable commercial insights.
- Collaborate with operational and commercial units to enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place and continuously seek areas for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to improve and automate financial workflows across systems including NetSuite and Salesforce.
- Engage broadly across Finance to address challenges, take ownership, and promote operational excellence.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- ACA qualified accountant with minimum two years post-qualification experience.
- Excellent academic history.
- Previous experience within a Big Four accounting firm is mandatory.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and technical proficiency.
- Highly skilled in advanced Excel functionalities.
- A strong inclination towards leveraging data, technology, and systems in finance.
- Commercially astute, analytically sharp, and naturally inquisitive.
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability in all tasks.
- Effective communicator, comfortable liaising with financial and non-financial teams.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and adept at meeting deadlines.
- Driven, hardworking, and willing to engage hands-on in problem-solving.
