Job description
Position Overview
An established manufacturing firm in Kildare is searching for a skilled and commercially minded Finance Director to head their finance operations. This executive will be integral to the Senior Leadership Team, steering the financial strategy to foster sustainable growth, profitability, and robust risk controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy to promote growth, profitability, and prudent risk management.
- Produce and deliver monthly management accounts and detailed performance reports analyzing both financial and operational outcomes.
- Provide commercial financial insights to aid strategic and operational decisions for the leadership team.
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning processes.
- Collaborate with the business in contract reviews and key commercial negotiations.
- Supervise project Work In Progress (WIP) analysis and reporting to maintain strict financial oversight.
- Manage treasury functions, cash flow, working capital, and banking/funding relationships.
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and risk management frameworks are in place.
- Drive improvements in finance processes and systems for operational efficiency and scalability.
- Lead and develop a small finance team, enhancing skills to support business growth.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a professional accounting qualification with at least seven years post-qualification experience and solid technical accounting expertise.
- Experience in manufacturing or construction sectors with knowledge of stock and WIP accounting.
- Advanced skills in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Deep understanding of project accounting, WIP monitoring, and working capital management.
- Strong commercial insight to act as a trusted advisor within senior leadership.
- Excellent leadership and communication capabilities to influence financial and non-financial stakeholders.
