Finance Business Partner

Overview

Our client, a pioneering European deep-tech company specializing in sovereign cloud and modular data centers with AI infrastructure, seeks a senior Finance Business Partner. This position is primarily remote with occasional travel within EMEA to client sites and headquarters. The role demands fluency in English, with French considered an advantage. The company's focus is on delivering an integrated AI compute platform through end-to-end control of energy sourcing, modular infrastructure, and orchestration software.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate as a Finance Business Partner supporting commercial, operations, and product teams with financial insights influencing strategic decisions.
• Develop and sustain dynamic financial models including business plans, unit economics, and deployment scenarios that drive growth strategies.
• Quantify and communicate ROI and total cost of ownership of infrastructure projects directly to clients such as cities, institutions, energy producers, and enterprises, assisting the commercial team during sales processes.
• Manage monthly financial reporting, profitability assessments per site or unit, and track performance indicators like margins, cash conversion, and payback periods.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting efforts, critically assessing operational assumptions alongside the business units.
• Analyze cost structures related to manufacturing and deployment of infrastructure units, collaborating with industrial teams to identify efficiency improvements.
• Prepare financial documentation for governance stakeholders, including executives, board members, and investors, supporting fundraising and asset financing initiatives.
• Coordinate with finance departments across multiple group companies to ensure uniformity in financial models and consolidated reporting.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Senior experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or business finance within capital-intensive sectors such as infrastructure, energy, industrials, telecom, or data centers.
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with ROI, NPV, IRR calculations and scenario planning.
• Proven skill in distilling complex financial information into accessible presentations for diverse audiences, including clients and partners.
• Comprehensive understanding of physical asset cost and profitability drivers, encompassing capex, depreciation, operating expenses, and recurring revenue streams.
• Strong analytical aptitude, structured approach, and capability to produce accurate finance deliverables under deadline pressures.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; additional knowledge of French is advantageous.
• Adaptability to fast-evolving organizations with fluctuating priorities and developing processes.

Desirable Experience

• Background in AI infrastructure, cloud computing, data centers, or renewable energy sectors.
• Knowledge of asset financing techniques such as project finance, leasing, and structured financing for industrial equipment.
• Experience managing financial reporting and consolidation across multiple entities and countries.
• Interest or experience with business intelligence and reporting automation tools like Power BI, SQL, or scripting languages.
• Previous roles in consulting, investment banking, or private equity focusing on infrastructure or energy transition projects.
