About the Role

Cross Country Rentals, a nationwide vehicle rental and passenger transport company operating 16 branches across New Zealand from Auckland to Queenstown, is seeking a Finance Business Partner to enhance its financial performance. Established in 1957 and part of The Tranzit Group, our company is committed to growth and providing essential transport services nationwide. This role is based in Palmerston North at our national office and includes travel to engage with key stakeholders to optimize business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with divisional leaders to boost business performance across the network.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
• Conduct financial modeling, pricing strategies, and commercial analyses.
• Prepare management reports and analyze performance metrics.
• Identify financial risks, opportunities, and trends affecting operations.
• Support contract evaluations, tender processes, and business development activities.
• Drive process enhancements and promote data-informed decision-making.
• Assist Business Unit Managers in improving their financial literacy and understanding.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a relevant accounting or commerce qualification.
• Professional membership such as CA, CPA, or an equivalent certification is preferred.
• Possesses strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Experience in business partnering, management accounting, or commercial finance roles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders effectively.
• Proficient in advanced Excel; experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is essential.
• Demonstrates a proactive and curious approach, focusing on strong relationships and eagerness to support operational teams achieve better outcomes.
