Job description
Role Overview
This role involves direct participation in daily production and packaging activities related to beverage manufacturing. Responsibilities include preparing raw materials such as fruits and botanicals, bottling, labeling, conducting quality assurance, and coordinating handoffs to delivery personnel. This is a practical, active role based in production facilities rather than an office setting.
Primary Duties
- Inspect, wash, and sort fruits, ensuring freshness and discarding anything substandard before use.
- Sanitize glass bottles thoroughly in compliance with hygiene standards critical for unpasteurized drinks.
- Fill bottles correctly from kegs, apply secure caps and accurate product labels including SKU, batch number, and production date.
- Conduct quality control checks assessing carbonation levels, fill accuracy, sealing, label placement, and surface defects before packaging.
- Package bottles safely into crates or boxes, observing correct quantities per order.
- Maintain cold storage protocols, ensuring product temperature is consistently held between 3–5°C during storage and handover.
- Transfer packaged orders to delivery agents with complete and accurate documentation, confirming pickups are on schedule.
- Keep the production and packing workspace clean and orderly, promptly reporting any incidents like spoilage or contamination.
- Document batch production data including quantities made, dates, and rejected materials.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in kitchen work, food and beverage production, bottling, or packaging environments is advantageous but not mandatory; comprehensive training can be provided.
- Familiarity with handling fresh produce and recognizing signs of spoilage.
- Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to strict hygiene practices essential due to the product’s limited shelf life.
- Physical fitness to lift crates and remain standing for prolonged durations.
- Basic reading skills to understand labels, batch identifiers, and checklists.
- Dependability and punctuality to ensure timely cold-chain management during product handoffs.
- Safety-consciousness in managing glass bottles and carbonated beverages.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Experience in fermentation, beverage brewing, or related production processes.
- Familiarity with cold storage or refrigeration facility operations.
