Job description
Introduction
We are looking for a capable Field Service Engineer to join our expanding engineering team based in Northamptonshire. The role involves servicing customer sites throughout the region, focusing on highly technical automated machinery.
Role Overview
This opportunity suits engineers with robust industrial experience, particularly in sectors such as printing, paper production, recycling, plastics, injection moulding, or similar manufacturing areas. Experience in the food sector is highly valued, but engineers from other regulated or industrial backgrounds are welcome to apply. Candidates with an engineering apprenticeship from a recognized food company will be given priority.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various customer locations across Northamptonshire to perform planned and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on sophisticated automated machinery.
- Deliver maintenance support that ensures machinery operates at optimal levels.
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- Multi-skilled maintenance expertise in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
- Possession of an engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
- Prior experience in a UK manufacturing environment.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working specifically within the food production sector.
- Completion of an engineering apprenticeship within a food company.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of £42,000 with an on-target earnings (OTE) potential of £60,000 due to regular overtime; all travel and expenses reimbursed.
